Denver Skunk Removal for any Skunk Problem
Skunks are omnivorous eating both plants and animal material while changing their diet as the seasons change. In the Denver area it is very common to have skunks knocking over garbage cans and eating from them. Also skunks have been found entering doggie doors into garages and eating from dog and or cat food that has been left out.Skunks typically mate in early spring. Before giving birth (usually May) the female will excavate a den to house her litter of 4-7 kits. Skunks are placental with a gestation period of about 66-days. When born skunk kits are blind, deaf, and covered in a soft layer of fur. About 3 weeks after birth their eyes open. The kits are weaned about 2 months after birth, but generally stay with their mother until they are ready to mate (1yr). During the 1st year skunk mothers are very protective and will spray at any sign of danger. The male skunk will not stay with the family and at times will kill their young.
